Prototype artwork attribution and license

This Brain Art prototype uses an adapted generative-art rendering approach derived from “Mandala 2” by Mona on OpenProcessing .

The original rendering concept and code were modified substantially for this prototype. Changes include EEG CSV processing, neuroscience-derived feature calculations, EEG-to-visual parameter mappings, deterministic rendering, SVG generation, metadata generation, and website-based image delivery.

This prototype artwork and the adapted prototype rendering component are provided under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial-ShareAlike 3.0 Unported License .

This mandala is provided without charge as a complimentary, noncommercial thank-you for research participation. It is not being sold. Under the license, the adapted artwork may be shared or adapted only with appropriate attribution, for noncommercial purposes, and under the same license.

Decoding the Mandala

Entropy measures the level of dynamically shifting structure in your brain, assessing the level of complexity in activity (complex/chaotic brain = diverse ring shapes)

Alpha Asymmetry measures emotional state, assessing approach vs withdrawal motivation (anxious brain = jagged radial movements)

Alpha-Theta measures level of meditation depth, assessing relaxed internal attention (meditative brain = more color transitions)

Beta Power measures effortful attention, assessing strain towards the assigned task (effortful brain = higher number of spikes)
